Responding to an Electric Vehicle Fire with Alpha

An electric vehicle fire that broke out in Ankara’s Çankaya district was responded to in a coordinated manner by Ankara Fire Department crews. During the firefighting efforts, the Nivofire Alpha Fire Limitation Blanket developed specifically for electric vehicle fires was used.

At approximately 8:06 a.m. in the Beytepe neighborhood of Ankara, an electric vehicle parked on the road caught fire for reasons that are still unknown. The fire spread rapidly, engulfing the rear section of the vehicle in flames, while thick black smoke billowed from the vehicle during the incident.

Ankara Fire Department crews, who arrived at the scene following the report, quickly responded to the fire. During the firefighting efforts, the Nivofire Alpha Fire Limitation Blanket developed specifically for electric vehicle fires was used.

The Fire Lasted Nearly 3 Hours

Taking into account risks such as high temperatures and potential reignition that can arise from electric vehicle batteries, the teams meticulously carried out fire suppression and cooling operations.

Following an intervention that lasted approximately 2.5–3 hours, the fire was completely extinguished, and after the necessary cooling operations were completed, the scene was secured.
