Electric Vehicle Fire Blanket

Fires in electric cars present a new challenge for firefighters because fighting fires in electric cars is very different from fighting regular car fires. This is because electric cars contain lithium batteries. They can produce tremendous amounts of heat, dangerous smoke and gases in a short period of time.

When it comes to a car fire, the situation can escalate quickly and flames are very difficult to control, especially where vehicles are close together or in enclosed spaces.

At Nivotherm, we know how important it is to find effective solutions to combat fires in electric vehicles.

That’s why we developed the Multi-ProC700 Fire Blanket, a car fire blanket resistant to high temperatures that filters smoke, isolates the fire and resists possible explosion in electric vehicle fires.

Description

Our Multi-ProC700 fire blanket is specifically designed to meet the complex requirements of fires in electric cars. With high temperature resistance of up to 1600 °C (tested to ISO EN 13501-1), this reusable blanket offers a unique way to control condition and minimize collateral damage when used immediately.
The fabric used is produced from carbon felt with high temperature and filter properties, which provides special strength with the needling method.
In its production, 12 stainless steel wire reinforced high temperature resistant sewing thread is used.

In addition to the standard product with an average size of 6x8m, we have the opportunity to produce different sizes.
You can review the technical documentation page for detailed information.

It is also important to note that although the fire blanket control provides safety control, it alone cannot extinguish the fire in lithium batteries. For this reason, the fire brigade must be called before any intervention.
