Have You Ever Seen an Electric Vehicle (EV) on Fire?
Have you ever seen an electric vehicle (EV) catch fire and burn? Probably not—just like most people. Still, it’s a question worth asking: if it did, how would it be extinguished? Would water, foam, or chemical extinguishers work?
That’s why Nivofire set a fully operational EV on fire to find out.
Intervening in a 100% EV Fire with a Fire Blanket
In partnership with the Istanbul Fire Department, we conducted a groundbreaking fire drill. It was the first of its kind worldwide. We set an EV on fire to simulate a difficult emergency scenario. The goal? To test our Texograft Alpha EV Fire Blanket. This blanket was built to endure extremely high temperatures. Texograft Alpha suppressed the fire in minutes, reduced toxic gases, and stopped the flames from spreading. This drill was more than a test; it was a milestone. It proved a fire blanket is the most effective way to control EV fires.
A Proven Success Story
Since then, Nivofire has used Texograft Alpha in seven separate drills. Each time, it proved ready for future EV fires without losing performance. Texograft Alpha is Turkey’s first multiple-use EV fire blanket. Moreover, it’s one of the most reliable and innovative solutions for EV and battery fires.
We are not just keeping up with change; we are leading it.
